One Pissed Rockets Fan

Don’t worry James, this is how Rocket’s fans feel too.

Come on Daryl Morey. You offered a max contract to someone that’s not even a top 25 player? You give away Kevin Martin (who is expendable but valuable), Jeremy Lamb, two first round draft picks, and a second rounder? This is giving away way too much and a serious sign of desperation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but we still have to sign him, a la Ron Artest, who we gave away 2 first rounders for, right?

We had our first good draft in what’s seems like years, acquire three very promising young talents, and before we even give them a chance to see what they can do in the regular season, we’re shipping them off (not like we wanted to trade the entire team for someone who said they wouldn’t resign here). Just look at Oklahoma City and how they became a good team, great drafting and the patience to take the time to let their talent develop and grow, and build great chemistry. You drafted them, why you don’t believe in you own picks?
So, we don’t make the playoffs this year, we still have three first draft picks for next season. Toronto’s pick will be a late lottery (could be higher) and we still have two in the mid 20′s. We could build on a good first year with these young players and Asik, by adding another strong draft of young talent, one lottery pick and two more first rounders. But, no, instead we help OKC get stronger in the long run. We give them, our best draft pick from this year and two first rounders for the future! This was a very poor decision and hopefully it will be the last by Morey. Harden, is no one’s All-Star nor is he near worthy of all we gave up. Never sacrifice your future or help your competitors, especially when they’re already this damn good.
And for all those thinking I’m being hard on Harden (ha ha).  I watched him back when he played at Arizona State and though he had the potential to be a star in this league and would make a great addition to our team, we didn’t draft him. Actually, when was the last time we drafted a player that had any kind of impact on our team? Morey? Anyone?

Bad move.
